If you want to go out but there is a costume requirement to enter the event, then go for this! You'll be warm & comfortable. A tip would be to wear maybe leggings & an under shirt in case you need a costume break.
Note: This is a b*tch to use the bathroom in, have a good strategy plan for that especially if you plan on partaking in libation celebrations!

I bought this for my daughter for Halloween. I bought her the Medium size, she's 5'3". It is a little baggy around the middle of the pajama. She wore it on Halloween night and kept her warm through the cold weather. She's also worn it to bed and has no complaints. I've washed it a few times and it still looks great.

Ordered an adult and a child size one of these and both are awesome. They fit good and are well made. My daughter is wearing for halloween!
